The Tymbal website exists to share information about Auchenorrhyncha, a group of insects that includes leafhoppers, cicadas, froghoppers, spittlebugs and planthoppers (see here for information about the site). The aim of the website is to aid international scientific cooperation in the study of this group of organisms.

The website is maintained as a service to Auchenorrhyncha workers throughout the world.
